Applicants at RBC are considered on the basis of their character, evidence of the new birth in Christ Jesus and a positive testimony of their walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
All applicants must sign a written agreement to abide by all rules and decisions of the College.
Educational Requirement: GCE or equivalent
Mature Applicants: Applicants below the educational requirement of the college must demonstrate ability to benefit from the educational programme being offered by achieving a score on an independently administered test that demonstrates that the applicant can benefit from the training.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Obtain application form from the college and send the application fees and required documents to the College. Personal interview will follow upon the receipt of the above. In some countries the College’s local representative or affiliate College will conduct interviews.Secure (two) references one of which must be from the Applicant’s Pastor.
- These persons must have known to the applicant for at least 2 years and should be able to attest to his/her character and commitment as well as to his /her intention to seriously prepare for ministry work.
- Be in reasonable, physical and emotional health.
- Pay the non-refundable registration fees specified on the application form.
- Demonstrate ability to pay for the cost of the course and living in the U.K.Commitment of the student’s self to be in regular attendance and on time for classes and faithfully carry out assignments given by lecturers.
- Two Passport size photographs for Students’ ID records and library cards.
NON-ATTENDANCE
Students are responsible for all work from the first day of the term. Students are expected to attend all classes and are required to attend a minimum of 3 hours a week. If you are unable to attend college for any reason, you should notify the college immediately.
Absences beyond three for a three-hour class, two for a two-hour class or one for a one-hour class will be penalised at the discretion of the teacher.
Any student who misses more than 20% of the sessions of a course fails the course unless an appeal is made and a waiver granted. The student may appeal to the principal after missing 20% of the sessions and may receive a waiver. Even if a waiver is granted, all absences continue to accumulate.
There is no appeal for missing more than 25% of the sessions of a class.
Any Student who misses 25% of the sessions of a class automatically fails.
NON-ARRIVAL POLICY
A Student who has been duly registered and placed on a course for which he/she has previously applied and has been accepted will lose all fees paid to the college if his non-attendance is caused by his/her deliberate decision to discontinue the course.
Otherwise, if it is shown that his/her non-arrival was occasioned by circumstances which he/her could not have foreseen then the college will only retain 10% of fees to cover administration costs.
STUDENT REGISTRATION
Every Student admitted to a course will have to complete an application form specifying the course desired. The Academic Board meets from time to time to consider applications. A Student who is accepted is given a serial registration number which is inscribed on his /her admission letter.
NON-COMPLIANCE
In cases of Non-Compliance with any of the college’s policies and procedures, the Registrar shall refer the matter to the principal who in turn places the case before the Academic Board for a decision. The Registrar is therefore authorised to take action.
STANDARD OF CONDUCT
A Student whose personal conduct is a poor testimony for Christ, and who fails to live in accordance with the scriptural ideals of the college will be spiritually counselled and will be disciplined to such extent as the Dean of Students deems advisable.
RBC reserves the right to refuse admission, to put on disciplinary probation or to dismiss any student whose personal conduct and / or attitude, in the judgement of the administration, are not consistent with the Christian Spirit and standards which the college seeks to maintain.
This includes fleeing from youthful lusts, pursuing righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart avoiding foolish and ignorant disputes which generate strife. Not quarrelling, but being gentle to all, able to teach, patient and humble to all.
By way of example academic dishonesty such as giving unauthorized aid on an examination or plagiarism (The intentional or unintentional presentation of another’s work as your own) are not acceptable behaviours and will not be tolerated. Both are subject to immediate dismissal.
PERSONAL HABITS
Students are expected to abstain from the use of any tobacco, alcoholic beverages and illicit drugs both on and off campus. They will also maintain behaviour above reproach in relationships with the opposite sex. Avoiding appearances of evil.
WOMEN’S DRESS CODE
Modesty, femininity and good taste are the guiding principles of women’s dress code in RBC. Women shall wear dresses, skirts or slacks with sweaters or blouses to classes and to all services. No low-cut necklines or dresses with slits above the knee or mini-skirts are permitted.
MEN’S DRESS CODE
To be well-groomed, clean neat and tidy are the guiding principles of men’s dress at RBC. Beards are permitted if trimmed and kept neat. Hair should be properly groomed at all times. No bare feet, flip flops, shorts or T-shirts are allowed. Slacks and shirts with collars are required.
MINISTRY PRACTICUM
Students are required to serve in their local Church for a minimum of 144 hours during the 18-month school year. Ministry practicum hours must be valid volunteer work sanctioned by the local Church providing training for the student and helping the local Church. This service verified by a Church Leader earns the student 90 credit
